Review: Sea-Doo RXT 2007

Rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

Pros: Good Performance and Off Power Assisted Steering
Cons: Heavy
MSRP*: US$11,799
*Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price

The Sea-Doo is a good performer on straight flat water. Its reasonably reliability unlike the 2005 model which was prone to problems. The Sea-Doo boasts large dials and uses a closed loop cooling system which is an absolute must when riding in saltwater (ocean riding), although you will still need to rinse the engine and supercharger to prevent corrosion. The off-throttle steering of the Sea-Doo is a major plus as most accidents occur due to the rider not being able to steer when the throttle is off (in Florida this is the second leading cause of PWC accidents).

This ski can be a little non responsive in regards to steering, and can be hard to handle in choppy conditions

Overall the Sea-Doo RXT is a very good saltwater ski which is fast on the straight but struggles in choppier waters. The Off Power Assisted Steering is a much needed feature and should be present in more water craft.

Your review says the Sea Doo RXT is heavy. Its dry weight is 812 while the Kawasaki is 100 lbs heavier and the Yamaha is 26 lbs heavier so actually the Sea Doo RXT is LIGHTER than the others and why is is so much faster than them too!!!!
Get it right folks!!
